Not sure if serious, but that's not even possible with our permitted segregation. We literally crammed in every single person we possibly could for the Derby match recently (c30,300) so that is in effect our current 'capacity'.
Wednesday and Derby have their own cause for embarassment, like a group of them asking me directions to their stadium (they had made an error in identifying my shirt) and I obliged - but not selling out tomorrow is a poor show and proves a lack of belief that this squad can turn it around. Yes...
The update is a nailed on 28k gate because we have alot of fickle knobs who've written off their own team, unless a surge happens tomorrow.
Couple hundred seats also appeared in W1I which set it back.
True, but should we turn it around they'll add to the atmosphere.
We haven't been in the ascendancy for some time. This is just another game against the odds, and it can be done, so pick up your ****ing tickets already.
I hope you're right but somehow doubt with all the sulking drifters around.
It's going to be 28k at best unless people seriously start pulling their fingers out.
Middlesbrough increased their capacity by 5k when entering the PL and was part of riding high with new finance and Juninho and Ravenelli etc, so they sold all 5k of those extra seats for the first season, which later levelled off around 30-32k (more in line with their previous capacity). There...
Wasn't 2006 when they lost the bloke with the brolley amongst other glaring problems, and the start of a decline? They still maintained an average c30k attendance over 11 seasons in top flight, hardly dwindling in comparison.
This keeps getting thrown out and has no basis in modern football.
Show me dwindling crowds for any top tier side in the last 20 years. To save you time, the best examples you will be able to find are 2-3k dropoffs for teams almost down by christmas.
Not sure how you've worked that one out with the figures given? We are already over a 26k gate, and you expect us to sell less than 500-700 tickets between now and Monday?
We've sold c50 in the time between these posts. I'm guessing we'll have about 2-3k left by the time we kick off tomorrow...
