Yep, although maybe don’t bother now. Oil price moving lower with the latest Russian proposals.

People will make their own minds up. They will be worried about the price but it is important to stress the proportion of the price we pay that comes from tax rather than market forces. Oil markets are quiet today and the FTSE is up 2%. We filled up with petrol yesterday as we do every week.

[News] There's no need to panic buy petrol

I can’t understand it either. Filled up both cars in the last 24 hours with no queuing (again). There must be some reason East Sussex keeps running out of fuel. How can it be supply when most of the rest of the country doesn’t seem to have a problem. Around here there were only issues for a...

[News] There's no need to panic buy petrol

Well, I didn’t see petrol queues until I came down south on Friday. Not many Tory MPs on Merseyside. Not what you wanted to hear, I know. Sorry.

[News] There's no need to panic buy petrol

I was wondering the same. I saw a queue of mainly 4 wheel drives outside a garage in Surrey on Saturday. I was speculating that there might be one long range commuter in a family. Very high petrol usage but a different commute car might be being refueled every day by a partner to keep it topped...

Thank you, that clinches it. If the newspapers are saying it then it is obviously true.

My main point was about people ignoring the only expert on this thread (Jesse James) but hey ho, back to your crusade…

[News] There's no need to panic buy petrol

No reverse gear. I never thought it was a media conspiracy. Just irresponsible scare mongering from a story reported without facts and in the context of an ongoing story. They simply over reached on fuel as probably didn’t realize the full consequences. As to your other point, I haven’t seen the...

You are very patient  So some of the European lorry drivers left because they were paid less and there are actually people on this thread arguing that we should return to this exploitative situation.

Most of the finger wagging at the peasants I have seen has been on this very thread. Loads of posts on here about stupid Daily Mail readers. What are you implying is being covered up by the NSC elite ?

Thank you, yes all seems fine now in Sussex as well. Most petrol stations we passed seemed to have fuel.

Just in time logistics are in place all over the world so we have plenty of company in not being in the EU. Anyway I see you got plenty of likes from the glee club. I’m off to the match.

Yes, really common across industries since 2008. It’s been a way of keeping costs down. Unfortunately it also creates an open goal for people who don’t understand, to fit it to their general complaints about life. And here we are.

[News] There's no need to panic buy petrol

The North/South divide that has been referred to on here was very apparent when we drove down last night. Plenty of petrol and no queues as far and including the M6 toll. Thereafter on the M40 just closed petrol stations or signs saying ‘diesel only.’ M25 and M3 the same. We have three quarters...

[News] There's no need to panic buy petrol

I’m about to set off towards the petrol wilderness that is the South East of England. TBF Crodo’s tales give me a little chuckle in a gallows humour type of way.

[News] There's no need to panic buy petrol

The problem with 1) is that it potentially means creating a new problem in areas that don’t currently have one. I have yet to see a petrol queue in my area apart from minor issues a week ago. I don’t think it would be helpful to divert petrol away from Merseyside to placate the nonsense going on...

[News] There's no need to panic buy petrol

We are driving down tonight in advance of the game. Just been exchanging texts with the Air BnB near Godalming and she says it’s still a nightmare. She advises filling up on the motorway. Our daughter managed to do so Southbound and south of Birmingham on the M6 yesterday with only a little queuing.
