There is a deal here, £1 a month for 6 months, then £7.99 a month. Can cancel at any point, so set a reminder to cancel in 6 months. https://theathletic.com/checkout2/pmintro1/?source=googleuksearchads&ad_id=582264476069&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9tzZ4vrX-gIVB-3tCh3jgwlUEAAYASAAEgL9KPD_BwE

Thanks for that, saved me £60 which would have come out next month. They normally email you and try and get you to subscribe on another deal, glad you said about the £60 auto charge. Happy to pay for it, but not at £60 a year.

Last year I was paying £3.99 a month, then cancelled and set up a new email, now paying £1 a month. Great value if you can get a decent deal.

I did the same. If i can't get the 50% again, i will just take up the offer under a different name and email.

Looks like this automatically renews at full price after the discount year, mine is due to renew early September. Does anyone know if there is a discount option to renew or is it easier to cancel and rejoin with a different email address?

I subscribed last year at a deal, would renew for another deal but not full price. Naylors stuff is alright, but the really interesting stuff is the longer in depth articles, Matt Slater is very good.

Just read that article now, they have more sources than Heinz.

Think I paid £30 for the year and that seems alright, will not be renewing at any more than that next year. £60 a year is too high.

Doing the free 30 days at the moment and will probably sign up for the year for 30 quid. Some interesting articles, and the app is good in places but they can still do a lot more. The blog on transfer day was just unreadable and a mess. The focus of the podcasts are all US sports, I guess...
