I can't read that menu, but it may be my eyes.

Genuinely gutted about that, it was great. I hope they do something else (in Portslade)

Yeah we were saying the same and will be giving it a go at home. Last night's was really well spiced, so I'm assuming they use a very good quality sausage. Plus the mussels were absolutely huge. It was also ever so slightly creamy. I don't reckon it will be hard at all to make, just tricky to...

Ciarans, Portland Road Right up there with one of my favourite places in the city. Bags and bags of flavour in every dish. Mrs MBH went mad over the beef shin tagliatelle. For my money the nduja mussels were one of the best things I've ever eaten in B&H. Lovely staff. £130 for two. Just go.

I'm trying Ciarans this week. Been looking forward to it for ages and always ended up going to Fanoos or Mediterra (both of which are great) if we're staying local, so I'm excited.

Used to be the best coffee in Brighton before they turned it into what it is today. I think it's well overpriced and not all that. DID YOU KNOW that THE Adele did a gig there back in the day?

Re Southwick: Plaice on the Square is good, as is the weird little micropub, for the odd one. Also Ali Baba do very good bog standard kebabs. Their chilli sauce doesn't disappoint. Also the butchers is excellent.

Yes thanks for that necessary clarification HT. I would like to qualify my review to publicly state to NSC that this tapas restaurant in Hove is not as good as actually being in Spain.

Market, Western Road Very good local tapas, definitely a notch up from the ones in town. Particularly tasty were the smoked beetroot, the gamba pil pil, the padrons, suckling pig and bacalao. £110 for 2 including a couple of COCKTAILS. Not sure what that works out as per course/mouthful, sorry...
