No, it's further up New Road, more or less opposite the two pubs.
FWIW, I'm sceptical that it'll work, but if there are extremely positive reviews from restaurant reviewers, or multiple positive ones on here, I'll give it a go. At the moment, will give it a miss: funds are tight, and the...
Spookily enough, I'm pretty sure I went there in April when I was up there for work. It was good.
If you like that, can I make a plug for New Era on Queens St. Alongside a certain pizza place I won't mention, and Planet India, it's the best value restaurant in town. Some brilliant Szechuan...
Thanks for this. Also worth noting that they've revived their tasting menu. I now need to gather a party to go.
Edit: I was wrong. Tasting menu still not available, nor is the a la carte. Instead there's a halfway house. Oh well. I'll just have to rest on the memories of enjoying their multiple...
Yes, the obvious question had an obvious answer. My advice is to eat out less over a period, such that it comes within your price range. For me, along with The Sportsman, it's about the best value quality restaurant I've encountered.
Bardsleys
Haven't been out to eat in Brighton for a while, but went to the old stalwart on Saturday lunchtime after the Friday night Kusaki visit. Still consistently the best fish and chips I know of, the haddock was just perfect. As good as when Roy and Audrey were there, although still miss...
Kusaki, Preston Circus
Vegetarian Japanese. Great decor, but ceiling is a bit low so acoustics not great (a sign I'm getting old), and this wasn't helped by the large tables such that diners are a distance from one another.
Food was hit and miss. Partner and son raved about the edamame and...
Noize, Whitfield St, nr Goodge St Tube
This place is fantastic yet, wierdly, I don't think the food is spectacular. The sommelier, Matthieu, is, as is his wife, Melinda, who serves brilliantly. Noize is somewhat of an outlier in that you can BYO and the corkage is either negligible or...

It's going to be a tough old time in the year ahead. Here's hoping that as many of the good guys as possible can hang on.
I've only been to Ciarans for the BYO set meal. That I'd heartedly recommend. Not sure if it'll fit your bill outside of that.
Beyond that, can only reiterate the usual suspects: 4&C, CinCin, LFM and Salt Room (which you've just mentioned).
I posted a week ago that I've been really struggling to...
No, but looking to book a place on a Friday night in a month's time. Let us all know what this is like when you get there.
Related to this, I've now looked twice to book a w/e 7.30/8ish sitting at Burnt Orange, but nothing shows up despite looking 4 or 6 weeks ahead. Is it that they reserve...
Yes, and it felt so much like a coffee shop, and I haven't found too many other places in the UK that do. Coffee at 33 and Twin Pines are my favoured places now.
