Congratulations to the Blackhawks - worthy winners of the Stanley Cup, the toughest sporting competition out there IMHO.
This is their 3rd Stanley Cup in 6 years - not too shabby.
Blackhawks win 2-1, taking the series to 2-2. Looks to me like it's going to go the full seven games.
These Stanley Cup competitions are a real test of stamina for the players (and the viewers!)
....Back in the New York groove
Great game, an energized Rangers team winning this crucial game 7-3 with Brassard getting a well deserved hat-trick, even saw Lundqvist heading out a puck when he couldn't use his hands.
This takes the series to 3-3 with the final 7th game at MSG this Friday...
Game 1 against the Lightning and Rangers take it. When you think how many games the two teams in the Stanley Cup final will have played to get there you realise this is one of the toughest sporting competitions going.
Well it went the full 7 games and down to the wire in OT with another single goal winner.
Both teams gave 110%. It’s been a great series and Rangers finally won and go on to play Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Final. Would love to have been at MSG for the celebrations.
Rangers fight back continues beating the Caps 4-3 and taking the series to 3-3. A real humdinger of a game. The Rangers second goal was literally in the dying second of the first period, on the video review there was 0.3 seconds left and the goal was awarded – that’s why I love the Stanley Cup...
Rangers manage to stay alive winning 2-1 in overtime, game included a disputed goal by the Caps. Lundqvist played a blinder in the last few minutes of the 3rd period.
They have narrowed the Caps lead in the series to 3-2. Here's hoping for 3-3 in game 6.
Caps beat Rangers 2-1 and go 3-1 in the series, with a good old fashioned punch up at the start of the 3rd period.
Rangers have to win the next game at MSG to stay alive.
Bugger - Capitals win 2-1 against the Rangers at MSG with the Capitals getting the winning goal in literally the last second of the 3rd period when it looked like it was going to OT.
Certainly very dramatic
Oh well it's the Capitals in the next round, I was hoping it would be the Islanders to make it an all New York competition but it wasn't to be.
Next year the Islanders will be playing at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn after 43 years at the Nassau Coliseum.
And Rangers have done it - great win beating the Penguins 2-1 in overtime on their home turf at MSG and taking the series 4-1. Karl Hagelin got the winner and Lundqvist played a blinder in the 3rd period. They go on to the next round and meet either the Capitals or the Islanders - hopefully the...
After the Albion shambles at Wigan another bad result with Rangers losing 4-3 in the second game of the playoffs against the Penguins. Oh well, on to tomorrow's game. Can see this going the full 7 games
