The new series of True Detective is very disappointing. Considering it's produced by HBO and stars Jodie Foster, Fiona Shaw and Christopher Eccleston it's just a mess. It doesn't seem to know if it wants to be a traditional detective series or a supernatural drama with ghosts and spirit guides...

What we do in the shadows - series 3. Still as funny as ever and interesting to see that the 3 main characters in an American TV series are Brits.

HBO had obviously thrown a lot of money at it and the CGI is top notch but I have to admit I found it very average - I did persevere with it but can't say it was that exciting. Horses for courses I guess but I really enjoyed the original film with Yul Brynner a lot more, this series seemed to be...

Catching up on series 2 of What we do in the Shadows. Really like this show, probably the funniest thing on TV out here at the minute. Reminds me a bit of The Office with lots of awkward moments.

Didn't see this when it was on, catching up now - up to episode 3. It's pretty good with a largely unknown cast. Really like the way they've captured London with the boozers, Tower of London and some pretty decent villains. Watching in the States I really appreciate the Englishness of it - with...

I didn't - but may do some catch up now everybody has more time on their hands. Have watched the first episodes of Plot Against America and like it. Now waiting to see the new series of Penny Dreadful which starts soon, really enjoyed the other series. Rory Kinnear is the only actor in the new...

I binge watched it over 3 nights as it really held my attention. There were a few twists at the end that I wasn't expecting and they teed it up nicely for a second series.

Seems to be getting some flack from various organisations saying it is not as factual as it should be and is making stuff up which will play into the hands of the deniers. It has gone a bit 'comic book' Tarrantino in places, but this is clearly for humour. When it tackles the serious stuff it...

It was good wasn't it. Good mix of humour and some quite dark bits.

A new series called 'Hunters' with Al Pacino starts today on Amazon Prime. It's based on true events about a group of Nazi Hunters in New York in the 70s tracking down escaped Nazis living in the USA

3rd Season of West World starts on HBO on March 15 - really like this show. HBO are keeping tight lipped about the plot but there will be some new faces.

HBO have just started a series adaptation of the Stephen King novel 'The Outsider'. Being HBO they give enough time to developing the characters and plot. From the first 2 episodes looks like a regular cop series with a supernatural twist - so far so good and the acting is top notch. Haven't...

Watchmen starts in the US on Sunday night. Getting some good reviews - needs something to take over from Succession and Righteous Gemstones. RG was really good - a piss take on the whole 'religion for profit' which is rife over here, and good to see John Goodman again (the closest thing...

I think the second series is about the best thing currently on HBO. Like many good series it took a while to get into its stride. As you say - a lot of backstabbing and plenty of humour (second series seems even funnier). And some of the dialogue - "I'm not in the right panic room" - is brilliant.

The Righteous Gemstones is an enjoyable send up of the Televangelists who enjoy a very luxurious lifestyle thanks to the generous donations from their flock. Stars John Goodman and is worth watching if you are at a loose end. Must be doing something right as the religious right are already...

Gave up after the 3rd episode - too slow and the only decent actress in it is Joely Richardson, the paranormal has been done a lot better by other shows

Been watching What we do in the Shadows, a mockumentary about a bunch of vampires living in New York. Not really laugh out loud but still funny. It's got Matt Berry from the IT Crowd. It shows how they all get pissed off with each other just the same as humans. The episode about one of them...

Cracking series isn't - seen 2 of the 3 episodes. Co-produced by HBO and Sky. Really scary when you think how much worse it could have been, and the refusal of the high level communist party members to believe their own specialists and try to push it all under the carpet. And the radiation...

Don't know if anybody has watched American Gods. Second series has just started in the States. I found it took a bit of getting into but really enjoyed it - and Ian McShane puts in a very good performance.
