Totally agree but that will have to be a medium term thing, integrating a player into our complicated patterns of play isn't an overnight thing alas. It would be great to see Barco get some sub time within a month or so

Yes RDZ needs to find solutions, the one back-up plan up to now out wide Facundo hasn't worked often enough. Fati and Enciso are possibilities but realistically as Mike Small referred to above are more inside players. I think that leaves the other options converting Lamptey fully into a winger...

It's the "cretins" bit? People are entitled to put their case that club should be signing players without you looking down from your great heights calling them that

They really don't - they are just disappointed that we've lost Mitoma, never had you tagged as a snobby superfan who doesn't allow anyone to vent a bit. Every normal football fan vents

You agree with calling disappointed fans cretins? Wow

That's right, the club's recruitment team couldn't start to do any work on a replacement until the clock chimed midnight on December 31st

That was indeed the point I was initially seeking to make, that the run of injuries in this one position of winger was not an "every season" thing, it's truly exceptional. But the bad luck was a known factor as we headed into the Jan window

The January transfer window was closed in October? Make it make sense

When March was crocked in October, a direct replacement needed to be acquired. Now we are paying the price as others have gone down and even some others could also be potentially injured in the remaining months of the season

RDZ specifically highlighted the absence of Mitoma as a reason why we didn't beat Everton

I assume you're counting Buonanotte as a winger then when he patently doesn't really have the speed for that position and rarely excels while playing there. Or perhaps you mean that time we played Milner there. Regardless, we've been hit very badly in that position and to pretend otherwise...

I think you're being a bit contrary here - the run of injuries in one particular position, winger, doesn't happen every season

Sarmiento scored the winner for Ipswich the other day, but we were told in January not needed because our players would be back from injury soon
