Having just read all that I can confirm that this is one of the most pointless and stupid pieces of legislation ever attempted.
It's suitable for the Paul Raymond era of porn and doesn't take any account of how the internet works whatsoever.

But this isn't what the legislation is attempting to do. It's saying "we've decided that these particular acts are wrong so we're going to try to stop you from seeing them".
How on Earth is this going to "protect children" from the very real effects of seeing lots of hardcore porn at a young age?
The key, as others have said, is education. As awkward as it may be for some parents, it's your responsibility to talk to your kids about sex (and these days porn in particular) from a pretty young age.
The fact is that they WILL see this stuff whether or not you try using "parental controls"...
Usual idiotic crap from governments who don't understand that any 14 year old with a smartphone will be able to easily avoid such "blocking" of sites.
Blocking TPB and others has obviously completely stamped out file sharing, oh hang on....
