The margins are so tight, taking the ball right next to the stumps was the only way to get the runout, rather than waiting for it to go past. There was just so little space to work with and he caught the stump fractionally first - to call it crap keeping is so so harsh, it was almost brilliant...
Well, you could be right that most keepers would go for it, but Root does seem wide at 1st. Plus i think keepers could get there off Anderson or Broad, but with Woods pace, that's a toughie
