He didn't give the ball away. He did hardly touch it though. No more than 6 passes. The most frustrating thing about him playing deep midfield was how completely nowhere he was when Lamela scored.
My observations, it'll be plus minus a pass or so. I kinda made a rod for my back by starting this thread, so I made a point of watching him throughout the game. It wasn't pretty, he didn't touch the ball til the 29th minute.
So basically he should play in 13 of 38 games, and the rest of the time he's ineffectual? Thats the very definition of a luxury player, the kind that regularly gets called out on MotD and the like of not putting a shift in, and has seen players at the very top clubs called into question. He has...
I spent time watching him today, unless I missed something in the opening 5 minutes he didn't touch the ball until the 29th minute, didn't make a tackle til the 35th, made about ten touches in total in the entire game, and despite being pushed deep into the Stephens role was inexplicably jogging...
I suppose we could say that, but I don't believe he misplaced a single pass. Out of the 6 he made in the game. He only missed one tackle, out of the two he went in for.
I'm intrigued to know what his game plan was out there, was he tasked with marking someone? Or is it a game-plan to press...
Hi OP here. I posted it because his performance backed up what I've been feeling about him for a while, that he isn't bringing much to the table at the moment, and can go missing. Bissouma offers this tantalising promise that has made me look closer at Propper. For me, this wasn't a knee-jerk...
Hi Mr most thumbs up on this thread;) I agree with you by the way. Most of the time he's perfectly adequate. Last season, with no competition for places and his general reliability, that was fine. This year, with the arrival of Bissouma, I'm wondering if he does enough to deserve an automatic...
In the first half Stephens and Bissouma misplaced passes, lost possession, lost tackles. They also fought for the ball, closed down opponents, moved around the pitch and put effort in. Propper was merely entirely un-involved in the game. So I do think that is a sizeable difference between their...
Opinions either way I can accept, but at least these two actually tried to play the ball and challenge their players. Propper was conspicuous by his absence from that first half.
Sorry for slating you, because you worked hard last year, because I hate having a scapegoat, and hate criticizing Brighton players. But I struggle to see what Propper is bringing to the table right now.
After 30 minutes of a difficult first half, with Stephens and Bissouma all over the place...
