I thought the ref was consistent but got conned by both sets of players. I thought he did quite well in not caving in to the crowd trying to influence him, although he may have wavered a bit fro the Baldock sending off.

Apart from the purple patch after their first goal I thought we coped quite well without ever looking comfortable. It was a game where everything came together for Newcastle at just the right time and when we did look like we might get back into it, the bar and a harsh refereeing decision...

We have actually finished the game well and shown plenty of pride. We do have some big girls blouses as fans though. There is no shame in getting beaten.

Baldock was busting a gut to get the ball and should not have been booked. He was showing the passion and desire that you suggest the rest of the team weren't. Newcastle's goal changed everything and if you can't see the quality in their team and accept that they are better than us on the day...

I must be a really shit fan, I am completely philosophical about this defeat, sometimes teams are better than us and get the breaks. The fact that is effectively a Premier League team playing in front of 50,000 plus fans gives them the advantage and I do not accept that we have just given up or...

Seems some fans struggle to accept that. For ten minutes of the first half Newcastle looked as good as any team I've seen in the Championship since we came into it. They were just better than us all over the pitch. We may have stemmed the tide.....

Newcastle are playing very well and are better than us at the moment, nobody needs sacking or abusing :rolleyes: Another goal for them and we'll probably be over run, one for us and who knows.

Outplayed for 10 mins after their goal and now working our way back into the game. CH needs to tell Duffy to stop hoofing the ball though.

It's pressure like that that often causes the wheels to come off, especially against an in form team. Here's hoping
