UPDATED: Dale Stephens SIGNS 3.5 Year Deal

Loving Stephens showing up the muppets who were slagging him off on a weekly basis in CH’s shackled team

Exactly it seemed blindingly obvious that he seldom had an outlet. Even so I can remember some great long balls from him on the rare occasions we charged forward. Izquierdo against Stoke and AK against Palace being two that stand out for me

Keep it up Dale, you are making the haters with their “not good enough” “too slow” “only passes backwards or sideways” comments look like right mugs. Shackles off bringing out the best in Stephens so far. Dale Stephens Albion’s Enforcer

Really? I rate Propper but he does not get stuck in and is probably slower than Stephens and nowhere near as good defensively. Bissouma and Propper together will see us being overrun in midfield when teams attack. You surprise me that you think these two could go toe to toe with any teams...

Fair enough but we definitely need a midfielder who is strong on the ball and aware of his defensive duties when required. Propper and Bissouma do not fit the bill. It doesn’t mean we need a Ron Harris or a Jimmy Case as regrettably they would be sent off every game in the modern era.

Who will be our midfield “enforcer” this season, apart from Mooy I can’t see that we have anyone who can fill that role. You are not saying we won’t need one are you? I keep seeing posts that Stephens isn’t good enough but no suggestions as to who should replace him. He is an excellent lower PL...

Nice that the players are coming the other way again. John Robinson, Gary Nelson anyone?

Ryan Harley had never played in the Championship ( I don't think) and tackled like a small girl, so I hope you are wrong.

Oscar would never have signed Ryan Harley, let alone chased him for two years

Not sure why you think I'd be making it up, it all happened around the time we signed Kitson and Butters and although I do have a download of DK's book on my kindle. I haven't managed to motivate myself to read it yet.

I'd heard of Upson because I believe we were offered him on loan by Arsenal when Hinshelwood was manager, from memory we turned him down and he went to Reading instead.

I think Bridcutt probably lost focus the day Gus was sacked.
