I disagree in that the Ref had a clear view of the incident. His reasons for not giving the penalty would have been that the ball was not in playing distance of the players and that The Tunisian scoundrel was ‘looking for it’. Even if he’d reviewed it, he’d have pretty much seen the same thing...

I think that perhaps there is an element of ‘the umpire’s decision’ here. What is your view on these two questions? If the Ref had blown up and pointed to the spot for either of our penalty shouts, would VAR have overturned the decisions and would he even been asked to look at the evidence? If...

Tunisian players allowed to rugby tackle in their own area (although the headlock pull down on Kane would have been a penalty in egg-chasing). The VAR officials had no interest in alerting the Ref to this. Will the same pattern continue against Panama?
