So what? That does not address the issue that there is no evidence of wide scale fraud in UK elections.
I agree that disengagement is a big issue, but that is for politicians to address through arguments. The voter ID law is a regulatory barrier to some voters who previously were able to vote...
If you look at the US the disenfranchisement is real, and it's not GOP voters getting excluded. The salient point here is that there is no evidence of widespread electoral fraud in the UK. Voter ID is the answer to a question that did not require an answer. It's adding a barrier to voting that...
Voter ID was designed solely with the intent to reduce voting. Voter fraud has never been a problem in the UK, the tories are simply following the voter suppression practiced by the republicans in the US.
If you were going to have to produce anything when voting then I'd say your polling card...
It's garbage and has been introduced to hopefully reduce the anti-tory vote. Pathetic vote rigging. Our elections have been and continue to be safe and secure, something to be proud of in this country for a change.
I do not have to produce photo id to do anything other get on a plane or get into Glastonbury and then my mug is on the ticket.
If this outlasts Covid restrictions it's another piece of discrimination against football fans and they would have to come up with a very convincing argument to...
I know I took my passport which is ridiculous overkill. I was attending a football match, not trying to get into Fort Knox.
I understand this is a league mandate not a club one, so I am hoping that this requirement will be lifted for next season should restrictions be lifted in June or July
I am annoyed about that too, but it appears to be a government diktat rather than club policy. Hopefully once restrictions are fully released this will not be necessary. Given that to buy a ticket you have to be registered, the ST will be loaded on to our phones I feel the club has more than...
It's just another barrier that is totally uneccessary. Passports are expensive and many people don't drive. What you say sounds 'reasonable', but we all know this is being enacted in bad faith. Not as bad as the States but it's the thin edge of wedge for me. The government know that the people...
These measures are always designed to prevent people from voting at all. We do not have a voter fraud problem in this country, this is just a naked power grab from a dominant party seeking to cement its position. A disgrace.
Bad idea, that sounds reasonable but is purely designed to disenfranchise people. Our system works well as it is. Our electoral system is rigged enough with FPTP and the limited number of voters that actually make a difference in the outcome of an election.
