Totally agree it needs a balanced discussion but there's so much interference in the discussion and misinformation seems to be celebrated these days. I'm genuinely not sure what to believe, but am pretty certain sticking with what I have whilst it is drivable is the best option. If I had to...
Who do you believe? The oil industry lobbyists, the tesla/car manufacturers lobbyists, the mining lobbyists? Do you ignore all of the facts you know about batteries and battery life and assume these batteries in cars are entirely different? That those lobbying for them are being straight?
I...
I reckon it's one of those things where when you jump you see all the benefits and find working around the negatives very straight forward.
I've no doubt that my next car will be electric, but hope there will be less/no need to own a car by then. That said, I'll not be changing cars until the...
I drove to Czech Republic in April. I cant drive longer than a tank lasts in a day so I drive, fill up at a stop over and get going again in the morning. An EV would have stressed me out on that journey. Round town and a 150 mile trip I bet they're great. Didn't see as many in mainland Europe...
The pick up thing is daft.
Shamefully I did look into/want to follow that route for the financial benefit and for the load carrying on camping trips.
But they are obscene. Worse than even those shitty SUV machines.
Luckily my wife made me come to my senses
Pick ups are a work vehicle. As a Ltd company the cost of the pick up and everything associated with it offsets corp tax, vat etc. All the while with 5 seats for the familly. That is why, it makes financial sense.
I live in an area where ulez is being extended. So many people forced to sell perfectly serviceable cars because of it.
Individuals losing money and generating more co2 in the process so that the car industry can sell more cars and increase environmental destruction elsewhere.
These newer...
Absolutely. People are obsessed with car use. Even when traffic and parking issues result in very little difference in journey time between waking/cycling and driving.
That first line reminds of of the once famous excuse - "some of my best friends are black"
Heard many many times. If you cycyled at all regularly then you'd be acutely aware of how vulnerable you are on a bike due to the demonisation of cyclists in this country. I don't understand it, but...
The reason cycling isn't as widely used is due to fear, that fear due to the weird hatred of cyclists. Its not woolly headed nonsense, its as clear as day.
It's insane, people on bikes reduce congestion for car drivers, they should be respected and celebrated. Instead there's disrespect at very...
Don't you think part of the reason for empty cycle lanes is due to demonisation and hatred of cyclists though? There's such an anti movement, mind boggling the hatred it generates.
Also due to some of the cycle lanes being shite of course.
