    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

On a related note. I was minding my own business in Mikkeller one afternoon when a rowdy stag party deservedly got their marching orders. When leaving, one member of the group looked my way, pointed, and shouted 'bald ****' at me. It's not very nice.

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

You’re right. He wasn’t arguing, he was (allegedly) muttering the ref was a bald bellend. I’m done with this now. I think everyone knows my feelings on the matter.

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

You said you were unsure what the yellow was for, I suggested there were at least two issues I could see. It could also be an accumulation i.e. 'persistent offences'. The exact reason(s) do not bother me, and I do not feel they need to be communicated to me by the ref or anyone else. I believe...

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

Whilst we do not know which one of the two it was, or maybe it was both, the RRA encrouchment is clear and pretty objective I'd say. Dissent is clear to me as well, but obviously more subjective to the recipient. Take your pick. Whilst his overall performance is questionable, with respect to...

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

There are at least two reasons I can think of. 1) dissent by word or action 2) entering the referee review area (RRA) Both were evident during the game. Even if you watch the official club highlights, whilst they do not show the actual action of being in the RRA the commentator makes...

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

I struggle to believe the ref did not ask Dunk to calm down/give him a warning, at least once, in all the time he was haranguing him. Dunk was on his shoulder or leaning over him for ages. And surely the first yellow should have suggested it might be an idea to pipe down? To then call him names...

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

I don’t agree there’s an ongoing narrative Dunk lost control. He was on the ref’s shoulder when he was reviewing the penalty and then protesting….that‘s a yellow; you can choose one or two reasons there . He then said something unwise and got a red. It’s this simple.

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

Only this season. As I pointed out, the bar for abuse has been lovered this year. And maybe other players, whilst they swear and curse and complain maybe they're smarter and do not to get personal?

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

We don’t know what was said though. So maybe the ref was being consistent? Just saying.

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

They claim it was a yellow and then a straight red.

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

The Guardian have said it was two separate bookings for dissent. I presume the first was getting in his face during the VAR and then swearing.

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

I agree it has died down. But my point about previous seasons stands, and others getting away with it isn’t a defense. I really don’t think Dunk can have any complaints

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

Dunk, especially as the captain, should know better; it was widely publicised refs are cracking down on dissent this season. It’s even more disappointing given our injury woes.

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

No? What do you think when watching them run around then?

    [Albion] Dunk - straight red?

It’s not appropriate to compare to previous years though; the threshold for dissent bookings was lowered this season.
