Helena Hauff - Qualm, very good if you like electro tinged techno. She’s no stranger to a 303 either.

Spent most of this weekend listening to Dan Avery’s DJ Kicks album. I bought it some time ago but forgot about it. It’s in line with his techno sound when he plays out, and not Drone Logic, and brooding and rhythmic; I recommend it to any techno head.

I like this. I think both of these guys live in Hove; which one’s your mate?

I’m looking forward to it.....but not entirely sure what it will be like. I recall that compilation of EPs they released some time ago was all over the place....but in a positive way.

It's interesting how a live performance can re-shape your thoughts on the recorded material. I remember an of Montreal album sounding weak, chaotic and disjointed. After I saw them perform it at the Concorde it all made sense. I think it was the Paralitic Stalks album. And I love Moon Shaped...

That's some more listening for me then  PS I'm definitely having one of those "music is brilliant" periods at the mo.

Ha. This vinyl has literally just arrived in the post. So excited about this. As an aside have you heard of John Maus...one time Ariel Pink collaborator. His stuff is interesting, crazy baritone voice, and you can hear similarities with Pink.

I've just been introduced to the delights of Blanck Mass. Now this is someone who completely passed me by until now. I bought his current album on a recommendation and a gig ticket purchase (he's supporting Forest Swords) and have now aquired the whole back catalogue. Excellent stuff and an...

Working my way through my new purchases. Forest Swords this morning. This album has got me thinking. Britain has quite a ridiculous and bewildering array of DJ/producer/musician types at the moment.

I saw The Grip when I was there I think. Lee Aaron also. Memory is a bit hazy though. There is some YouTube footage with me quite visible in the crowd as well. I'll see if I can find it.

Venom. Now there's a name I've not heard in a long long time. Saw them live back in the day on a tv program called ECT and they hung around after and autographed my denim jacket.

I'm loving it. Even that Call The Police track sounds better in the context of the album.
