Bands you had completely forgotten about

I got to know Chris, the bassist with the Members in the late 70s, as he used to hang out at the Nashville up the end of North End Road. I'd seen them, and Nicky Tesco was really shy on stage. I told Chris to get him to jump around a bit. Saw them a few weeks later at the Marquee, and the rest...

Bands you had completely forgotten about

Saw them at the (old) Marquee in 77. Supported by Skrewdriver (before the lead singer became a mentalist). Odd double bill - gay soft porn star meets nascent neo Nazi. I bet there was tension in the dressing room. Hang on . . . . possibly not :lolol:

And when I moved to Faversham I found that on certain evenings it IS the land of grey and pink :lolol: They claim that their quests for greatness was always scuppered by dodgy managers. Hmmm . . . . My fave album of theirs is the first. Pop psychedelia. Lovely

Rediscovered the wonderful King Crimson recently. This is from a later line up with the stunning Adrian Belew. For folk who have experienced that first mad rush of love, this may reawaken delicious memories . . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7N27rSAdu20

His versions of Strange Fruit and The Internationale are sublime. Always a good reality check for me when I start imagining the tories ain't so bad after all :lolol: And Shipbuilding. Wyatt is still at it, and still with Ms Benge, bless him.

Just remembered, I joind the Caravan club in in74 and got a nice typed letter from the secretary, Richard Sinclaire's missus, who basically ran their pub in Faversham in recent years (because Richard was a bit keen on drinking the takings, alledegdly). Sue, I think her name was. Very nice.
  16. Harry Wilson's tackle

Bands you had completely forgotten about

When I moved here in 89 it was a dream come true. I even went and found the church fields where Caravan 'camped out' in 1967. When I saw Caravan in Diss in 98, I got to meet them all. Richard Sinclair played on the bill at the Canterbury festival about 10 years ago. He is just amazing. And...

Bands you had completely forgotten about

Some bands that I loved and forgot about then re-discovered (some cracking downloads - ahem) recently are: Mission of Burma (That's when I reach for my revolver) Grauzone (Schlaktek) Killing Joke (Jaz has stopped growling and started singing again - stunning) Blueboy The Wake Deep Purple...

There is some great 'new' shoegaze. Check out The Soft Moon. Also, Section 25 are still going (the godfathers of shoegaze to dance). And I have picked up some amazing obscure tracks by Modern Eon recently. They were smashing.

I haven't. Saw them in 74 at Brighton Poly, later at the Dome, Reading festival, the theatre opposite Victoria station, then 25 years later, at High Wycombe, up in Diss, in London, and more recently, twice in Canterbury. Richard the drummer ran a pub in Faversham, and sadly died a few years...
