    I’ve just stumbled across this untagged rebuke. I certainly didn’t realise I’d contributed to an avalanche of counter ‘outrage.’ I merely expressed another point of view. I guess that’s outrage now. “I’m sorry. Did you come here for the 5 minute argument?”

I’m merely pointing out that a weight of adverts like this is damaging, and really it’s not our job to find women attractive anymore than it’s their job to find us emotionally immature. You can, by all means call someone pretty. There’s just no need for us to make it...

    Yes. I doubt they are offended by one chocolate advert. It's when one chocolate advert becomes many adverts and the stereotype gets reinforced that it becomes problematic. I hope we've moved away from those times and don't go back. I’m intrigued by the fact that your job is to find women...

    I'm sure they are, but I really doubt whether girls get together over a G&T and spend time fantasising over some budgie smugglers. If a male friend asked me to chat about stockings, I'd think him pretty vacuous and more interested in objectifying women than anything else. But you know that :-)

    The concept is funny. Parts of the execution are crass and sexist, and that’s where it fails. “Stockings or tights?” Good grief!
