I once took an old Peugeot apart with the idea of cleaning up all the parts and putting it back together. When it came to it nothing appeared to fit anywhere at all. I just had a pile of gleaming parts on my garage floor for over a year.
I’ve moved up to Hurst and have used the cycling cafe Proper in Hassocks. They have a workshop there. All good.
However, my son has just used Porteur in Hove and had an excellent experience. Prompt and bike back as new.

If you go along to Shoreham and don't mind a few little hills then head up the Coombe Road to Steyning. Or you can just follow the path alongside the River Adur which is flat all the way to Bramber. A beer there then home - job done.

I can safely say that I enjoyed my MTB ride a lot, so thanks to Pogue Mahone for keeping on at me.
In all honesty, I am still a roadie at heart, so Stat Brother and 1066familyman fear not - I still love slipping into lycra. I just have another wonderful option now. It's well worth a spin.
I think it comes down to volume. There is a point where quantity will naturally result in the salutation to other rider stopping.
However, if one comes into contact with another rider and there is no other rider within 100 metres, then it should be a requirement to say 'hello'.
