[Cricket] 3rd Ashes test: Aus vs Eng at the WACA

My club too has a policy that no kids should be turned away because of a lack of money. Don't think that Simster's local club is typical

[Cricket] 3rd Ashes test: Aus vs Eng at the WACA

My kids played competitive sport at primary school - although there were no leagues. My son plays rugby and cricket, both of which have competitive leagues. My daughter's rugby team doesn't play in a competitive league, but that's because there are only four teams in Sussex, not because...

[Cricket] 3rd Ashes test: Aus vs Eng at the WACA

That's very true and something that needs to be addressed. But the issue we had was with primary schools so just stumps, soft balls and bats were needed. If we can't get them interested at 8 or 9, we'll have no chance at 11 or 12.

[Cricket] 3rd Ashes test: Aus vs Eng at the WACA

That's true but there were better over rates a few decades back too. It was pretty standard to bowl 110 to 120 overs a day until fairly recently. [Cricket] 3rd Ashes test: Aus vs Eng at the WACA

Different reasons though: Trott and Swann were mentally shot, Prior was injured and Pietersen was the fall guy. None of them really retired because they were ageing. Bit different this time - Anderson looks on his last legs and Cook's reaction times are looking slower

[Cricket] 3rd Ashes test: Aus vs Eng at the WACA

I think there's another three years before Archer qualifies for England. I reckon Garton will be the next Sussex player to win an England cap. Finn's a shadow of the bowler he was. Wood looks decent but he's injury prone. It doesn't look great out there. EDIT. I was way out with Archer. It's...
