There is damage to the top of his crash helmet on the left hand side. It certainly seems to have saved his life in the initial impact.

The BBC, but to be fair to them the TV pictures never showed Bianchi or his car at any point prior to the stopping of the race, and apart from a quick caption showing Bianchi's name and a shot of Sutil's car, there was nothing in the pictures to suggest anyone else had gone off there.

Apparently Spanish TV have footage of the crash but it isn't being shown elsewhere because it is so bad. Bianchi went under the tractor being used to pick up Sutil's car and because of the large wheels on it, his head hit the bodywork as the car passed under it. Murussia test driver Maria De...
