What i am suggesting would have make it easier for Stockdale and not harder. Yes he clearly had called for it, but had Dunk not backed right away from the flight of the ball, would Jones have got there first.

Why would it have made it harder for Stockdale, he could have move so that the incoming forward had to go around him to reach the ball rather than have a free run at it and in this case beat Stockdale to it (who probably underestimated Jones's speed)...
I still think Dunk could have made sure he was between the ball and the striker and not moving out the way away to give Stockdale and as an unwitting result Jones a clear run at the ball to beat Stockdale there. But he is still young and learning and it would be harsh to be over critical of this.
Stockdale did make a great stop against Cardiff when there was a weak backheader which let in a Cardiff forward with just the keepers to beat. I don't remember many that PIG stopped when one on one with a forward.

PIG also cost us goals, and there are those who would welcome him back and don't hold them against him.
In fact every keeper has made mistakes in his career which have cost his side goals / points. Fans should realise that it can happen and it's a part of football, not use it as a stick to beat...
