[Albion] Final nail in the coffin for “I can’t get away tickets”

I can’t speak for why 2,499 other STH bought their ticket for Liverpool, but for me it’s simply that I try to get to as many games as I can, and I could get to this game so I bought a ticket. However, given we have mid-20k STH, it’s perhaps not that surprising that 10% of them bought a tickets...

[Albion] Final nail in the coffin for “I can’t get away tickets”

You mean that anyone who has bought a ticket through the club in the last seven years for any game, home or away, can buy a ticket for an away game against a top 6 side? I thought it was a closed shop; I might have to reconsider my position.

[Albion] Final nail in the coffin for “I can’t get away tickets”

And... that’s fine, of course, but don’t say that “I can’t get an away ticket”; say instead “I choose not to buy an away ticket” or “I can’t afford an away ticket”. The people I’m criticising are the ones who say the former, and not either of the latter.

My dig was not directed at you - apologies if you interpreted it that way. I think that we are already seeing demand start to diminish. I expect that trend to continue.

[Albion] Final nail in the coffin for “I can’t get away tickets”

Yep - I agree with the first two paragraphs. The third? I’ve not seen a suggestion that is any better. I think any scheme will have flaws; the current one has allowed any member to get a ticket to see Liverpool away in our second season (and will probably extend the same right to those who have...

[Albion] Final nail in the coffin for “I can’t get away tickets”

I see your point, but I don’t entirely agree. The “hard yard” folk may decide to not do this particular game, but, by definition, they did enough similarly hard games in the past to get them in the position where they now have a choice. My issue is with those who want the benefit extended to...

[Albion] Final nail in the coffin for “I can’t get away tickets”

Would need to check, but I think it’s 90 for the second renewal. I suspect he wouldn’t need to be lucky again - once he was set up in the system, it’s likely that it would be automatic thereafter... Ooh. Dunno - but that sounds sensible. Still, folk only have to wait until Tuesday morning...

[Albion] Final nail in the coffin for “I can’t get away tickets”

250 Liverpool seats still available for any Albion fans who have never seen us live. Just pay your £22 Bronze membership and immediately purchase a ticket for a “glamour” away tie - Robert’s your mother’s brother.

Not disputing what you say - but he got lucky; he definitely shouldn’t have got any for just having a new ST with no prior purchase history.

It’s definitely what the T&Cs say. I cant speak for what happened in reality for your mate... And I’ve just bought a 18/19 ST for my mum and she has zero LP.

[Albion] Final nail in the coffin for “I can’t get away tickets”

A brand new STH doesn’t get 50 points. They only get those points when they renew for the second season...

[Albion] Final nail in the coffin for “I can’t get away tickets”

They don’t though. It’s only on renewal that a STH gets points. The first renewal generates 50 LP, which is nowhere near enough to get them into even the third tier. The vast majority of those in the first and second tier will have been STH for at least 5 years... as well as attending home cup...

[Albion] Final nail in the coffin for “I can’t get away tickets”

Huh? A Bronze membership costs £22 for a year. If someone who professes that they wish to go to away games cba to buy one, I call BS.

[Albion] Final nail in the coffin for “I can’t get away tickets”

15 minutes after Liverpool away went on sale to anyone with a Bronze membership (annual cost £22), there are still 233 tickets for the game available from the first allocation (ie before returns are processed in the week before the game). If you want to go to away games, you can. It’s only if...
