Perhaps the player knows the risks, and is happy to take a chance? And obviously, I know nothing about his heart problem - for all I know it may not be a potential Marc Vivien Foe job at all.

If it's his health, maybe it's more about his life than the money. It was, apparently, a heart problem, not just an iffy ankle or something. Even if the fee was ten quid, plus a set of kit and a pair of goal nets, would we really want him to do a Marc Vivien Foe one beautiful afternoon at the Amex?

Shame. I know that (just as with all our signings this summer) I'd never heard of him so had no idea if he'd turn out to be any good or not, but I had a sort of hopeful feeling about this one. I just hope now that this Izquierdo bloke turns out to be f**king brilliant!

Out of interest, how many clubs have been sniffing around our players? All the talk has been about incoming players - and possible incoming players - but hardly a murmur about people leaving. Reading may have been a bit interested in Hemed, it's been rumoured, and of course we've sent out a few...

Update. Sky News seem to think that he (Izquierdo) is in contention for tonight against Barnet, so maybe it's all been finally sorted now? Or are Sky jumping the gun?
