Oh of course - I should have realised that the Radio 5 commentators have hardly any experience of watching football, and of course the pundits have never played the game and know nothing about it. So of course their views and comments are not worth listening to, compared to someone like you? OK...
A little application of observation and logic would suggest that as I was listening to the match on Radio 5, no I didn't watch the first half. Or the second half - during which, incidentally, he was described as doing rather well.
Really? Oh dear, I'd better go and support another team then............
A 19 year old is dropped into a tense top-of-the-table thriller (at a level of football described at one point by the Radio 5 commentary team as top 8 PL level) against a very good winger and does very well.
And you come...
Thing is, at this stage of his development, I'm guessing CH thinks he is better than the young players in the DS are at the moment. CH is probably right.
ALL our players are here because there was no-one better available at the price we paid. That is how football works, unless you're Abramovich or the Man. Citeh owners.
Good. Because you've got the same evidence in both cases. Dodgy starts in an unfamiliar back four against Newcastle. End of. Duffy improved. Tomori improved too.
Actually, I think you'll find they both made dodgy starts against Newcastle United. Tomori seemed to sort himself out pretty well after the dodgy first half though.
Yes there is then. Duffy came into a back four he hadn't played with before, and struggled. So did Tomori.
Obviously, Duffy, being an experienced international and all that should have done a lot better, eh?
Rosenior coming back. I don't think Canadian Sam was injured then, either. No team - or at least no team on a reasonable budget - can afford to have four or five or six or whatever high quality Championship LBs sitting around hoping to get a game if enough other players get injured. The norm is...
.....and some more bells from me. He seems to have done alright, out of position, in the second half at least. Just how good can you reasonably expect a 19 year old fourth choice left back to be? It's almost like last season in some ways - just how many top quality Championship left backs is it...
