After his performance at Liverpool yesterday I'm afraid I may have to recant a little on what I have said in this post.
..............I might have to stop moaning about his substitutions!
I've said it before, and I'll repeat it now - and I'll say it again if somebody starts this thread up again seriously. Even if we get relegated I'd still want to keep CH as our manager to get us back up after one or two seasons. If we look to be heading for League 1 approaching some future...
Yes, but the shit-storm he inherited was tthe same shit-storm that Hyypia walked into. Crap recruitment.. Chris hauled it round - Hyypia just didn't get it that they were players who couldn't play the way he wanted. That's why he failed.
Wonder what would have happened if Hyypia hadn't resigned? Relegation, almost certainly.
Maybe players as good as him (and as good as the players he had around him in his playing days at Liverpool) could have made his system work.
But the awful squad he had, thanks to Burke, buggered him from...
Thank you (I think)! But I do try to keep the two separate - there are some posters on here I can have quite a reasonable debate with - except when on the Brexit thread. Anyway, I tend to try and keep away from that most of the time now - it's just the same old, same old, 'We're more intelligent...
Maybe I shouldn't, but now this thread has been bounced I can't help relishing a warm feeling of smugness when I look back to the first pro-Hughton post on here, post #24!
Oh dear, do keep up! Moaners and so-called bedwetters nothing like the same thing. Yes, people moaned about Barnes, Poyet, Uncle Tom Cobley and all - and still are moaning about something or other. 'Bedwetters' is a term of abuse which came on the scene last summer when some bad fans started...
I think you need to do a bit more research before making a statement like that. People were called bedwetters for suggesting that our summer signings weren't all that good. They were right; I don't suppose any were happy to be proved right - another season pushing for promotion would have been...
I'd be careful using that term! Last year the 'Bedwetters' turned out to be absolutely right, and those who had trotted it out at every turn to vilify anyone who expressed any sort of doubt or criticism ended up looking pretty silly (and they all suddenly went very quiet!)
This season has been...
Hughton in. There is a great malaise, going back several years now, at our club (mainly the ingrained belief in passing sideways and backwards, slowly, just outside our penalty area in the futile belief that this is 'proper' football, and the misconception that anything that involves going...
