It seems that the other series you mention, which will deal with the build up to the Dance of the Dragons (and potentially the Dance itself if it progresses) has been commissioned for a 10-episode series under the title "House Of The Dragon".
Did anyone else spot the coffee cup?

Yep, they're already casting for it. It's set 10,000 ish years before the events of GoT.
So far John Simm and Miranda Richardson, among others, are signed up for regular roles.
As much as I did enjoy last night's ep, and I did, I'm actually more interested in what is to come.
I've always found the "political machinations" side of both the show and books to be more interesting than the supernatural stuff.
Well I loved it, although given the pace and the (lack of) light I did struggle at times to keep up with who was doing what to whom and where.
As others have speculated, I think there is still a twist in there - the NK won't be gone just like that. Most of the last three eps will focus on the...
I read a Tweet which says "I feel like this episode only exists to make next week hurt more" which sums it up perfectly for me - we are now flawlessly set up for the epic that is to come next week, and we know they won't all make it out alive.
No, she's his aunt.
Jon's father (Rhaegar) was Daenerys' brother.
On his mother's side, his mother (Lyanna) was Ned's sister, which makes Bran, Sansa and Arya his cousins.
There is a loose plot connection in that, historically, it's only those with Targaryen (or at least Valyrian) blood who can ride dragons.
Suggests to me that Daenerys has a least a suspicion about Jon's bloodlines, although probably not the exact nature of the link, and was putting it to the...
I don't think he'll make it to the end. My prediction would be that he sacrifices himself to save Bran at some point, thereby atoning (in his mind at least), for shoving him out of the window at the beginning.
As for the episode, I concur with everyone else - typical first episode, which sets...
I'll be watching tomorrow evening - 2am is a bit much for me.
That said, I'll do the 2am showing for the last episode - the risk of spoilers would be far too high.
Yep.
Sad as some may think it, I've booked the Monday after the finale off work so I can watch the simulcast.
Assuming there are no missed weeks, the finale will be the same weekend as the Cup Final....what an epic weekend that has the (albeit unlikely) potential to be.
