Has anyone got any recommendations for a decent pair of trail running shoes? I'm signed up for the full Steyning Stinger in a few weeks, so need to invest.
It feels like World Athletics have dug themselves into a hole allowing the Vaporflys in competitions. Now they have to let in the Dragonflys too and, who would have guessed, world records get smashed. I can't understand why they don't take the same approach as swimming with those body suits (as...
It wasn't me but agree that it would be nice to have a picture!
This is an interesting read re the Strava changes: https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2020/05/strava-cuts-off-leaderboard-for-free-users-reduces-3rd-party-apps-for-all-and-more.html
They give you a two month trial now, which I have...
Did my re-attempt at the mile this morning with (nice and flat) loops around the Emirates stadium. Very pleased with 4:55 and a Howard Grubb AG% of 75.53. Not sure I could go much faster to improve my AG% at the moment, but with a few more weeks/months lockdown and plenty of high volume slow...
I would say that your advice on this thread has helped my running massively, ie being comfortable running slower whilst increasing volume. I have been able to increase my weekly mileage to circa 45 miles over the lockdown and this month am on course for by far and away my highest ever monthly...

This is worth reading about Vaporflys and the validity of the results of the elite runners using them: https://sportsscientists.com/2020/02/running-shoe-tech-the-emperors-clothes-and-the-issues-for-the-integrity-of-running/
Ran my first ever park run this morning down at Hove Prom. Was a really well organised, thoroughly enjoyable, event. Perfect conditions for running too. Came in at 19:33 (66.07%AG) which I was pleased with after the night before. Hats off to those who did the double.
I certainly don't run as much as some on here but I have used Mizuno Wave Riders for a few years. I usually get circa 500 miles, almost exclusively on the road, out of a pair before they start feeling like they are losing their cushion.
I like the look of those New Balances 1400 though. Will...
