I've tried loads of milk alternatives this month, at least these ones:
Soya milk
Coconut milk
Almond milk
almond & coconut milk
Hemp milk
Rice milk
Oat milk
For my taste buds, by far the best choice for coffee or tea is the 'Oatly foamable' oat milk. I wait until Sainsbury's have it on offer...
The first rule of vegan club; tell everyone about vegan club :)
This has been a really interesting thread, keeping things moving until our resurgence on Friday
Talking sense in a well-written, considerate post, not ranting or alienating anyone. Might jut be me but Half Time Pies is making me very uncomfortable with his eloquence!
Yes definitely be yourself, sounds like you are giving it a bash but don't let it feel like she's pressuring you (I threw a bit of a strop at my misssus a while back for no reason).
Mentioned this on the burger thread; I recently made Mexican bean, sweet corn and jalapeño burgers, really satisfying, easily the best veggie burger I've ever had. Make those dude, she'll love it. Not quite as good as a dirty burger with egg, bacon, pineapple and cheese, but you can't have it...
I suspect some will only eat wild plants that they forage. I doubt they live long.
You've got to fight your battles as you can't really live that easily if you try and avoid everything that damages animals or the planet (and thus indirectly damages living creatures). However, I'd imagine...
Yeah that's a bitch. Most beers are produced using animal products right, but don't contain them? Are mussels ok because they don't have a nervous system or something?
What about honey? Vegans don't eat that but they do eat almonds, which basically require bees to do SLAVE LABOUR
And Half Time Pies
Both great posts. It was actually my fault my missus became vegan, she was getting more interested in the way animals are treated and wanted to become vegetarian, when she said she couldn't give up cheese I pointed out that the life of a dairy cow was probably the worst life...
Haha. I really don't know what I'll do in Feb, I don't like the idea of never eating some of my favourite things again. But it's not THAT much of a hardship and when you watch those videos and realise what has to happen for you to be able to eat. Bit tough.
Haha you are a quality Mong. Even if it was remotely possible to prove that, it bears no relevance to the time we live in NOW. You also realise I assume that around the world today, let alone in ages past before animal husbandry, different people are very different diets, some with little or...
Wait, do you believe humans were DESIGNED?
Vegans might need to be a bit more considerate of their nutrition than others, but mostly that's just down to the individual, if they are just eating carrots, they'll be in trouble. But then if you just ate steak and chips you wouldn't be any better :)
