The membership isn't worth it for a single game, just racks up the overall cost. If they get the bug though...you'll be skint pretty soon!

£150 is prohibitive. Everton at home for adult and two kids is £71 in the south or north but looks practically sold out.

The Premier League isn't responsible for the reduction in grassroots funding from central and local government though. It's just a conventient scapegoat. I give the PL and Scudamore a lot of stick, (39th game, kick off time rescheduling) but on this one people are angry because of the story...

Fair enough. Tony Bloom and Paul Barber believe the club’s future financial sustainability is best served by having Richard Scudamore still having a role at the PL. An effective cost of £83,000 a season was deemed reasonable and an extra sign of appreciation for what Scudamore has delivered in...

    [Football] North Stand Scudmore Protest

Peter Scudamore is employed by the Premier League to netgotiate broadcast and other deals with interested parties. He's done this very well for his employer. His employer wants to ensure that future deals are not compromised by other parties employing him and using his knowledge to reduce the...

Whilst we were in the Championship Tony Bloom subsidised every ticket sold by £20 for six seasons to give the club a competitive budget to be in the frame for promotion. He’s entitled now IMO to expect the club to be self sufficient now that we are in the Premier League. If you don’t think...

The club has no say in relation to the pay package of Scudamore though as they don’t employ him, and consequently cannot rubber stamp it either.

I pay £515 for a season ticket, which works out as £27 a match, that includes the travel voucher worth a fiver, so £22 a match to see Premier League value 19 times a season is good value IMO.

The club lost £110 million in six seasons in the Championship, it would have lost more with lower ticket prices. It has the fifth lowest playing budget in the Premier League, with Palace playing their players on average £20,000 a week more than we do. ST prices are reasonable, not cheap, but...

If Scudamore went to a competitor there could be far less in the central pot for clubs though, which is why they made that particular decision. From the clubs' point of view it was an insurance policy, and the £83,000 is their annual premium. In dealings with PB he's not criticising the fans...

I don't think you need bronze membership for Everton. I think bronze membership gives priority for matchday tickets, but then they go to non-bronze.

It is contractual though as the contract was agreed by the remuneration committee. If Scudamore went to Sky or another broadcaster and used his inside knowledge to negotiate down a contract and/or headhunt EPL staff with knowledge and skills it would cost clubs far more than £83,000 a season...

The clubs weren’t asked for more money though. The story was leaked by a club executive who doesn’t like Scudamore or Bruce Buck to a friendly journalist who wrote up the story to generate clicks and outrage.

It raises an interesting question. What/who is the average fan in the Premier League?
