True, but he's been second choice keeper in the Premier League before, perhaps he didn't fancy getting splinters in his arse at the age of 32.

Curiouser and curiouser, as Alice once said.

If he's been told that he's unlikely to be first choice, and there's the carrot of a three year contract at Birmingham where he is almost certainly to be playing every week, then perhaps it seems a good deal.

To be fair, none of us know anything! This was a deal that no one expected. Good luck to him, he's been a great keeper for us, some memorable saves, and a thoroughly nice young man too.

Doubt it. Birmingham wage bill last season £15m compared to the Albion's £27m (which could easily triple 2017/18). Birmingham are not going to pay him £80k a week or any of the other silly numbers being quoted.

Was he an attention seeker when he did all that work and support for the families after the Shoreham air disaster?

I think there's a few bigger pricks on this thread. Son's birthday (who also has an Albion top) and our precious twatterati start giving him abuse. Embarrassing bunch of bellends.

It's not out of the club's hands though, as they could offer him a more lucrative contract. It's not a case of whether or not he wants to stay. It's more to do with securing the future for his family. He's a good guy, I hope he chooses the Albion for that reason as much as him being a key...
