If he's been told that he's unlikely to be first choice, and there's the carrot of a three year contract at Birmingham where he is almost certainly to be playing every week, then perhaps it seems a good deal.
To be fair, none of us know anything! This was a deal that no one expected. Good luck to him, he's been a great keeper for us, some memorable saves, and a thoroughly nice young man too.
Doubt it. Birmingham wage bill last season £15m compared to the Albion's £27m (which could easily triple 2017/18).
Birmingham are not going to pay him £80k a week or any of the other silly numbers being quoted.

It's not out of the club's hands though, as they could offer him a more lucrative contract.
It's not a case of whether or not he wants to stay. It's more to do with securing the future for his family. He's a good guy, I hope he chooses the Albion for that reason as much as him being a key...
