He wasn't hounded out by the fans though, the club didn't offer him a very good deal and so he took a better one elsewhere, I'm sure most of us would have done the same.

No way. Never smiled enough when he played for us. The fact that he has scored more PL goals than Murray, Lambert, CMS, Hoskins, all of whom also scored 20 goals the year we were promoted, this season, is down to luck.
