Not really - the market will dictate the value of the product. There was nothing to stop ESPN, Virgin, BT, Amazon or whoever from coming in and offering more than Sky did for the rights to the EFL. There was no other bid on the table, so £595m was enough. Whether a larger portion of the £5.1bn...

Fair point, there's plenty of humdrum looking fixtures in the PL as well. But as it currently stands, its still a top flight game as opposed to a second division one.

Ricidulous amount of grizzling. The likes of Villa Derby and Dirty wanted to hold out for a better deal, unsurprisingly nobody came forward to trump that offer, so they had no choice but to accept the £595m from Sky. Obviously thats peanuts compared to the £5.1bn the Premier League rakes in, but...
