It centres on an ethnic minority, which is a PC box the BBC very much likes ticking (which wouldn't be a problem if only they could actually make it, y'know...FUNNY)
From what I've seen of it (which mercifully isn't very much) I don't think there's anything remotely racist in Citizen Khan. Yes...
Try Veep. The funniest American show I think I've ever watched (abeit one of the writers is Armando Ianucci, who is a scotch and is largely responsible for the masterpiece that is The Thick of It, of which Veep is kind of an American version).
Including 'Friends' in this is ridiculous. You might not personally like it, the characters can grate a bit. But its one of the most sharply written comedies on the box, and wouldn't have survived umpteen series if it wasn't.
My immediate reaction was Citizen Khan. Utter, utter dreck, but ticks...
