Well when I see I've got a notification, if its a quote then I'll go and have a look. But if its a thumbs, I often won't bother until I have a "clear out", as it takes forever to bring up the thumbs list up anyway for some reason, loading the whole messageboard into another tab. Bit of a pain tbh.

Agreed. I don't do thumbs. If I'm going to respond to a post then I'll quote it, but I have NEVER done a thumbs either way (unless it was by accident). Same with Facebook. I've never liked anything, and never will.
