Quite. All we've had since we've gone up is the finger-wagging "season tickets are not transferrable", but never once a mention of "unless you are the owner of a PSL". Perhaps the sales of PSL's were so miniscule that it wasn't considered worth muddying the waters by mentioning it.

Odd that this (important) caveat hasn't been mentioned at all amongst any of Barbers numerous and regular darkly veiled threats to all of us about the crime of passing our tickets on then.

For the odd game, the club are organising a ticket exchange I gather (whether its a PSL seat or not will make no difference)

The 1,000 seats being kept back in the WSL nearest the north stand for match-by-match sales was news to me - I didn't know it was specifically going to be this area. Mind you, I didn't even know carers go free at Withdean so maybe I'm not particularly in the loop with this stuff.

You just seem fairly well informed. We don't get that much on here.

Evalouise - are you connected to the club in some way ?

I'm just not convinced of that. Why would they move, or even worse split up an existing group of friends/family STH's to accomodate new requests - even if the new requestor is looking to buy a PSL ? For the sake of a one-off £500, you're potentially pissing off a loyal and existing revenue...

TBH we've got a sprinkling of JCL's in our group anyway, so I doubt we'll maintain all 21 seats forever. Of course, with none of us taking up PSL's, it does mean that we could end up with "strangers" amongst us if and when some of our party decide not to renew (unless we sneakily transfer it to...

What difference would having a PSL make if they did that ? I'd still have to pay the upgraded season ticket price regardless of whether it was a PSL seat or not.

Thats the key - the club needs to do all it can to keep existing STH's happy. And that does not involve shunting them around the stadium to accomodate family stand STH's who have "come of age" and want to move. I'm in a group of 21 STH's, we are "clustered" together in 3 rows (of 7, 7 and 7)...

Good point. Kind of like car insurance, I expect you'll get something sent through the post confirming the price for the new season, and if you are simply renewing then it'll be a case of "YOU NEED DO NOTHING". They'll just kick-off the new d/d from 1st April again, or whatever. Works for me...

If people have bought a PSL on the basis that they believed it was the only way of guaranteeing they'd be able to renew their season ticket for the same seat, then they have been sold a pup. Some direct questions at the presentation cleared this up quite easily, ie existing STH's will ALWAYS get...

I dunno if the club have got it "wrong" as such, as we were told in January that they'd sold nearly 200 PSL's at that point - thats just short of another £100k going straight into the clubs coffers. Like most on here though, I'm just very dubious as to their true value to fans, but if some...

STH's will always get first refusal on renewing their seat (the same seat), as they always have. Someone purchasing a PSL will not be able to oust an existing STH from their seat before that STH has had the option of renewing. Ken Brown was pinned down on this point at our presentation and...

If we have electronic turnstiles like they do at the Emirates (which I understand is what ours will be based on), then nobody at the stadium even checks the card. You just "beep" it through the scanner as you pass through. Whats the point of having a photo ID on that ?

That IS one potential benefit. There was a guy at our presentation who asked about this, as he was moving to Manchester for a year studying or something, and wanted to know if he could "sub-let" his seat while he was away and then reclaim it on his return to Sussex - to which the answer was...

Can see no point to this PSL lark whatsoever. I had a conversation with a bloke in the pub the other day who's bought one. I asked him why, and he couldn't come up with any better reason than "because its definitely MY seat forever". I pointed out that all STH's will always get first refusal on...
