As Brighton Cottager has said the Jordaan has some great bars and restaurants and is one of the safest areas in Amsterdam

Brilliant bar and only about 10 minutes walk from the Prins Amazing beers on offer and the jenever gins they have especially the Corenwijn's are something to enjoy.
