Tim Farron puts God before Politics

Sorry to take so long to come back on this, but..... 1. What do you mean by the "checks on public officials"? In terms of dealing with vulnerable people and the like, anybody who is doing anything for or with vulnerable people, which would include Children, would be subject very strictly to the...

Tim Farron puts God before Politics

The people who produce the sort of stuff I provided a link to will often have worked as researchers or in MP's political offices or the like in the past. They could well be qualified, therefore, in that sense. But are we not all, as voters, capable of thinking about the issues? I work for the...

Tim Farron puts God before Politics

If the Church isn't qualified to involve itself in the pastoral care of people - young or otherwise - I don't know who is. Tim Farron puts God before Politics

Yes, it is for some. I probably didn't put it very well. The main point of what I was trying to say is that it is not a mandatory part of the package. In fact far from it. Most people I know from within the Churches are liberally minded about it. Personally, it's not exactly top of my agenda.

Tim Farron puts God before Politics

Very much this. I don't think he ever made a big issue of it. The main thing that gets me about this is the message it might send out that Christians are anti-gay, and that it is part of the baggage, WHICH IS NOT TRUE.

Tim Farron puts God before Politics

No - I don't think it is. It was precipitated by Brian Paddick's resignation as shadow Home Secretary and his publicly stated reasons that it was because of Farron's position - I was going to say stance, but to be fair to Farron, I don't think he has ever made a big issue about it..
