Simple really, I assume that tax is the reason for his residence overseas because he is careful not to spend an average of more than 91 days in the UK and has registered with HMRC as a non-resident for tax purposes.
I like Lewis Hamilton, I also think he is a fabulous driver but I think he lets himself down by rejecting his country of birth when it suits him but plays the GB card when it is to his benefit.
Compare his actions to that of JK Rowling for instance
