Oh yes, loads and loads of chances. He has played just eleven games, with most of those just cameo roles off the bench. I maintain that a player needs to start, say a dozen games, before anyone can get an idea of what he can, or can't do.
I suppose though, that these days, such is the...
I must admit I have always liked Aleksandar Mitrivic. He was still a Newcastle player when we signed Locadia, and there was some talk on here about trying to get him in, but I guess as you say, they were never going to sell him to another team in a Premier League relegation scrap.
Presumably, as someone else suggested, because the club didn't expect Glenn to continue to be so prolific in his goal scoring, and had planned to adopt a different system up front by now, and playing to the strengths of Locadia. But maybe we will never know for sure.
Well that's just my point. Maybe you are right, but unless a player plays games how will we ever know whether he can hack it or not? What he is capable of in training is neither here nor there, the only way you can really tell is in pressurised game situations.
I know you need to make the most of your chances whenever they occur, but really, in his first few appearances, in a new country, in a new league, what did you expect? a hat trick?
Well if that's true it's a shame, the boy deserved a chance. That's a lot of money to waste. Unless the problem isn't merely football related of course.
So you can tell that he isn't Premier League quality from just eleven appearances can you? with the vast majority of those just being a few minutes at a time when coming off the bench?
If Chris Hughton thinks the same, then maybe the poor lad really should go home.
For goodness sake give the man a chance before you right him off! No one can tell what he is, or in't capable of, from the odd cameo appearance off the bench. The guy needs a run of starts before we can tell his true worth. Besides, the club must have been confident that he could do the job...
Exactly this, it can't be easy for him watching Glenn scoring goals so regularly, and knowing that for as long as that continues at least, he doesn't have a chance of starting games. I'm sure neither he, or us, expected Glenn's goal glut to continue into this season.
All we can do is hope that...
