Shame he decided to walk out on the club in protest, when he was first team coach after Dean Wilkins sacking, although whether or not Micky Adams would have kept him on, I don't know.
Exactly this. Sheffield Wednesday are a good bet for the Playoffs, so we certainly don't want to help them achieve that. Wes till have to face Fulham at home, (although presumably we wouldn't be permitted to play), and Blackburn are probably the best bet as they have no chance of promotion...
I know that a few Albion fans have trouble with him, but still only 32, and a sad loss to the full time game in my opinion. Apart from the extra travelling involved, surely he could have remained with his family and played for Portsmouth.
Any minute now someone is going to suggest signing Dan Harding as left back cover. Wouldn't imagine Eastleigh would demand too much more than a set of new kit for him though.
Me too. Knocky terrorizing the full back on one side, Kaz on the other. (though doubt LuaLua will start tomorrow). Exciting times!
All we need now is someone to convert the chances that they will undoubtadly create.
Actually, for several of them, I think it may have to be this summer, certainly if we want to be a force again next season.
Greer, as much as I love him, at 35, is seemingly becoming more injury prone and less mobile, and Calderon even now, is nowhere near the force that he once was. Bruno...
As has been said before in other threads, we are probably just a couple of quality signings away from promotion to the promised land. I'm covinced that those players are out there, and available for fees, and wages, that wouldn't break the bank of Tony.
Why aren't we making them? I guess only...
Beginning to get a little bit brassed off now. Are we making bids for anyone? Kermoghant could have done a decent job for us, scored a few goals, and wouldn't have broken the bank in doing it.
If we end up without a new striker come the end of the window, I'm going to be very disallusioned...
Well if he can help us GET to the play offs that alone would be a success. Once we reach them, the play-offs themselves can be a bit of a lottery anyway.
Sadly, you could well be right. Although IF we did manage to land Glenn, even for an initial 93 day loan, I would be delighted. That would take us through ubntil the end of the season, and then perhaps if he has done well, we can secure him on a permanent deal.
Here's hoping.
They probably were, but for what could be a multitude of reasons those signings haven't come to fruition . . . yet. Some clubs may simply not be prepared to sell, some targets may not want to come to the Albion, and others may prefer to keep their options open, and wait until the end of the...
I'm not so sure that his potential departure will affect Reading too much. Admittedly Blackman hit a purple patch earlier in the season goal scoring wise, but those goals seem to have dried up somwhat now.
Frankly if I were Reading, and the fee is/was £3m, then I'd take the money.
