Lovely. But this is partly my point- actual Italian Ultras coming over to properly kick it off is a completely different kettle of fish to a load of Nigels from suburban Surrey. The Police really should be able to cope with that.
I was going to go and drink in the Caxton for the afternoon and look for some Palace fans to fight, but now it's closed I guess I'll just stay at work for the afternoon, drink only water and get to the ground by sustainable public transport just in time for kick-off instead.
What do you think these people who wouldn't have a pleasant pint together are going to do before the game now? Stay at home and play tiddlywinks instead? Or just go to other pubs?
I don't understand why closing pubs helps the police. Do they honestly think that anyone who normally drinks in xxx pub is going to think 'Oh, they're closing it, I'll stay home until just before kick off then'? They're just going to drink somewhere else instead, somewhere where the police might...
