Well done @Skaville. I think for the first time ever, I've liked a suggested new chant. It's simple, fresh, and I can see it being anthemic enough to catch on in the rest of the ground. Let's do it!
For any FPL players, Barco has now been listed as a £4m defender. Of course, we don't know how often he'll play but if you think he'll get game time and send in plenty of crosses and assists (and even get the occasional goal), £4m is a bargain.
It was but was then reduced to one match.
Does anyone know when the Argentina-Brazil match is on? I keep reading that he's eligible to play in it but can't find when it is.
Pedro has a touch of it. In fact, I’ll say it, I think he’s a bit of a diver. Love him of course but I can see him pissing off rival fans sometimes. As for Barco, a bit of arrogance can be a good thing but I’d rather he showed it on the pitch than in the dressing room. RDZ doesn’t tolerate too...
Regarding his new club, Colo stated : "I'm already a Brighton player. It's a totally different kind of football than here. I'll have to adapt, I hope it's quick. I didn't have the opportunity to speak with the coach (Roberto De Zerbi). I did speak with Facu (Buonanotte), who is there. I feel the...
The Kudus release clause was said at the time to be a sticking point as his people were aware of the Caicedo stalemate where he supposedly felt trapped by his contract. Who knows if this is true but it was cited several times on here. You're right, I believe the release clause was added to the...
My only slight concern is that Barco's people may be insisting on a release clause. Mac had one, and has possibly recommended the same for Barco. Remember, this was reportedly the reason for the Kudus breakdown. Caicedo was criticised for signing a new contract without one.
Those Twitter comments are interesting, from all those enraged Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool fans complimenting Brighton and asking why the hell their clubs couldn't buy him. It's a good question but I think two parts of the answer are that young players really want to play under RDZ...
My understanding is that once the release clause is met it all depends on whether the player can agree personal terms with the buying club. Based only on what I’ve read here, sounds like Barco wants to come here so there shouldn’t be any problem. As you say, the biggest risk is the agent...
It’s not a question of 'hearing' it. It’s been widely discussed in the media, on podcasts etc. Which isn’t to say it will happen but a number of pundits seem to think a move to Newcastle would suit him well, and with their injuries, would suit Newcastle well too. Seems like a Howe sort of player.
The problem is the difficulty in keeping anything secret in the social media age. Plus the incentive for a player's agent to let it be known that Brighton are interested. Wages and commission will always be higher at Chelsea, City etc., so I guess it’s in the agent’s interest to leak the news...
