Point of order, she’s not the second, she’s named after the 1st, and iirc the dustbin lid is up when the vertical motion is required diverting airflow downward
Edit used for rolling take off aswell.

In 91, 3p mess deck HMS Cardiff, issues were resolved with a Gladiator Run the gauntlet complete with the theme tune played out on the mess tape deck, anyone who knows type 42’s will know 3p mess houses circa 40 blokes including Marines looking to take you down [emoji23]

You’re behaving like a politician Dave, you ask a direct question, I gave you a direct answer that you clearly weren’t expecting so you ask another question [emoji23]

We wouldn’t ever have two carrier fleets out unless we were at war, and by war I don’t mean skirmishes in the dessert.
A standard deployment CBG will most likely consist of 1 T45 destroyer (AAW), 1 T23/26 Frigate (ASW) Possibly an Attack Sub & and a Tide Class RFA
On a war footing we could...
6 Type 45 Destroyers
13 type 23 Frigates
2 Amphibious Assault Ships
8 type 26 Frigates on order
11 Attack Subs
I think you’ll find we have plenty of ships to form a battle group alongside a state of the art RFA fleet.

Dave, you must wake up each day looking forward to putting the boot into the UK, you come across as very bitter, I bet you were popular down the mess deck.
