Oh yeah I had a decent enough kebab thing from Alushi which is under the station across from the Albert. Perfect if you need a no fuss quick bite before carrying on the celebrations after we tonk the barcodes next week. The owner is a proper friendly guy. 7/10

I tried FilFil out the other day, and can see exactly why you rate it. There probably isn’t better value in town, certainly not since that noodle place in Pool Valley closed where you could get a proper lunch for about a fiver (was it Indonesian?). Anyway, I digress, two wraps and a very...

Tried the Tonkotsu lunch menu the other day which seems good value until the food turns up and you get a reduced size ramen or hiyashi and side and you wonder were else you could have gone. It was bang average with a distinct lack of flavour (disclaimer is that we both ate veggie but still) but...

I had mixed feelings about Fork, mostly around the portion sizing which I thought was on the verge of taking the piss. Good food and cooked really well but is Lewes ready for a 20 quid cod dish that you have to top up with the 4.50 chips yet you still leave feeling underfed? Nice whipped ricotta...

Places I have enjoyed very much recently are Carlito Burrito and Lavash. Lavash is the STAND OUT light lunch spot in town IMO. Highly recommended if you are having a mosey through NORTH LAINE. Carlito Burrito goes a bit under the radar because of it's location IMO but it's good in there.

Jay Raynor has also been to Burnt Orange recently https://www.theguardian.com/food/2021/aug/08/jay-rayner-restaurant-review-burnt-orange-in-brighton-delivers-on-its-smoky-promise Solid review should see them busy for a while longer

Yeah good shout. Also the Salt Room who have a bar area to have them before you sit down. Would have suggested Plateau, who used to have a really good cocktail barman, but alas they've lost some good staff to Brexit and can only serve up a simplified menu currently.

Harbour Street Tapas in Whitstable is a nice spot if you are in the area and can get in. Beers in the Twelve Taps first.

So I went to Burnt Orange last week, the new venture from the owners of The Coal Shed and The Sal Room. It's a got a completely different VIBE to both of those places, indeed it apparently switches up into a bar later in the evening. It's sharing plates/mmall plates/whatever you want to call it...

Oh yeah I went to the urchin a few weeks ago. Obviously still amazing and had a great limoncello sour beer for pudding brewed in their Larriken brewery under the pub. Won’t bother eating out again until it’s warmer though and I did find the fact that drinkers and diners mixed with inevitable fag...

I've just booked into the Urchin for next month. They have covered their outdoor area so protected from any adverse weather in the next couple of months especially. Flint House on the terrace (not tried it but they are set up with blankets and the like I'm told), Moshimo have some outdoors...
