Can hearthily recommend a few hours in Altes Madchen if anyone happens to be in Hamburg. They do a dish of the day for 9.50 which was a nice bit of steak atop creamy polenta and roasted veggies which was washed down with one of their own Zwickel beers, brewed on site. Great setting and a huge...

Impressive review for the Urchin by Jay Rayner https://www.theguardian.com/food/2018/dec/09/the-urchin-hove-does-its-thing-with-gusto-restaurant-review-jay-rayner His one criticism was of a dessert but you should really be full of shellfish and beer by that point if you ask me.

Tried Pizza 500 for the first time properly on Saturday. It's decent enough but it was really busy and I find it hard to judge them at such a time. Menu a bit much to be honest, they could refine it. Enjoyed our starters, though they weren't mindblowing. Missus had a very decent caronara and...

Glad you enjoyed. I've done the wine pairing and actually found it a bit much, was totally sozzled when I left. I found myself at Street Diner the other day and Cin Cin had a stall. One brilliantly, freshly cooked box of pasta with nduja and peas later and I'm gagging to get down to Vine Street...

Quick bite in Cury Leaf Cafe's Kemptown Kitchen on Saturday evening. It was pretty good to be fair. Highlights were an excellent paneer curry and some really good and spicy chicken wings. Lots of street food style dishes and you can order all the curries in large or small so you can have a...

Lunch at Michael Bremner (64 degrees)'s beachfront gaff Murmur last week was, well, uninspiring. Set menu of three courses for 20 quid is decent value on he face of. Started with fishcakes, then onto whole plaice and chips and then what was called a cream puff or summat. The starter was small...

I finally went to try these Baos. I thought the Baos themselves were okay, if a little keenly priced. The special fries were are joy, however, great pub food.
