Managed a new PB round Preston Park on Saturday of 21:33. The previously absurd notion that I might one day break 20 minutes is becoming something that might actually be doable if I dedicate a training block to it. Maybe.

1:37:39 for me which is a 5 minute PB from Brighton. Route is alright but there’s way too many hairpins to consider going for a time there again, if you ask me. Got Shoreham Port vibes out towards Goring too. Can't argue with how the weather turned out though.

Yep I’m in. Hoping the weather semi behaves itself as hoping to be dragged round by the 1:40 pacer.

Word of warning about a quick start is that you have the 1/2 mile uphill section in the first mile. Not sure gunning it up there will be too beneficial and to be honest it would be pretty difficult anyway as it's a bit tight up there with all the parked cars. I'd settle in personally, a bit off...

First in my age category at Parkrun this weekend with a 22:39. There were definitely older finishers than me but I'm taking it as running and firsts do not come easy. Age grade 61.15%. Highly recommend Whitstable parkrun if you are in the area. Lots of runners but a flat course with a kinda...

Maybe it's a thing, not knowing exactly how far in you are. I'm wondering if I finished the race off faster because I wasn't running to my watch, instead just hanging in there on the edge of what I thought was reasonable pace wise. Congrats on the PB.

Managed 1:42:51 in the Brighton Half yesterday which was pleasing after my watch froze at 7 miles meaning I ran to feel for the last 6 miles. Interesting wind to run into for the final 5k but that's the nature of the beast. Signage could have been better, I think I only say two mile markers...

Get some carbons for sure. They will really kick in towards the end of the longer races. I'm not quick but towards the end of my last marathon (3:57) I actually had a bit of kick and that was undoubtedly helped by the shoes (Vaporfly). I fancy a pair of the Endorphins Pros but seem to have...

I've not run for well over a month now which has been extremely frustrating. Starting to run walk my commute to and from work but even that seems plenty at the moment. Got an entry for the Brighton Half but any real training seems a way off. Get well soon.

Take it easy. Sore throat I had with covid this time got worse and worse for a few days. Took a month to get back normal with various knock on illnesses. Parkrun debut for the son this morning. Guess what? Went off too quick. Plus ca change

ParkRun PB yesterday of 22.37 if the table could be updated. Age grade 61.24%. Really helps having a pacer dunnit. Reckon I can get down to 21ish with a bit of winter speed training.

3:57:04 in the marathon last week. Happy with breaking the 4 hour mark with room to improve. 3:45 next marathon target but will will give it a couple of years and go for some shorter distances in the meantime. 45 min 10k the aim for the next year.
