Arrived at Brighton Station yesterday with half an hour to spare so popped into The Record Album for my first time ever ,
Found this little beauty on 7" . ..
Turn up the bass !!
This was apparently the original recording , they binned it to use the new word/craze that was gaining traction in Kingston at the time, the tape re-emerged and got released for RSD some years back causing me to queue at Resident for hours! ...
Considered by some music historians as the first Ska recording, moving on from Boogie and Shuffle...
Like most Jamaican record history it's open to debate!🤔.
NOT REGGAE, but still interesting..
This was my main buy from the batch including Feeling Soul , bought to replace the one I acquired from Sounds Unlimited bitd , probably I considered it a ' boogaloo ' type sound ( it isn't ), it's taken years to find a copy at reasonable price .
What's so...
Getting philosophical with 2 points about dub ....
1 , all music is reworking older sounds .
2. As someone else mentioned earlier - it's all about the spaces ...
Conclusion - modern jazz got there first ..
check at 3.30 in ( there are better examples around ) ..
